June 9, 2020
Dear Members,
Your notes, emails and social posts encouraging us these past three months have kept us going, but nothing will compare to seeing you all face-to-face, with proper social distancing, of course.
As of this writing, we plan on re-opening Monday, June 15th but this is completely dependent upon SLO County’s official release to re-open. We will keep you updated by email, our website and social media platforms.
We are conscientiously following the guidelines given us by SLO County to ensure our facilities have stricter sanitation systems in place and of course, a 6’ bubble around equipment and other members. As our County allows, we will adjust our operations accordingly.
So, what can you expect when we re-open? In accordance with SLO County’s Re-opening Guidelines, here is what we have enacted and/or planned to date:
- Tentative Opening Date: Monday, June 15th at 6a.
- Hours: Monday-Friday: 6a-8p; Saturday 8a-6p; Sunday 8a-4p. Shorter hours to allow for deeper cleaning and sanitizing.
- Masks: Masks are encouraged but not required.
- Facility/Equipment: All areas including Cardio, Strength-Training, Locker Facilities are open. Increased and highly visible sanitizing stations are available for member access; Staff is committed to continuously clean all ‘touch points’ throughout the day.
- Group Exercise Studios: At this time, we have not been released to offer indoor group exercise classes. This presents us with a fun and creative opportunity to roll out a few outdoor Pop-Up Classes so you can get your group exercise ‘fix’. Stay tuned to our updates because we believe this to be a temporary exclusion and can change any day.
- Pool/Whirlpool: The pools, pool deck and Whirlpool are open. To accommodate more swimmers and maintain proper distancing, those pools that are 50m will be short-course only, with one swimmer per lane for 30 minutes. We promise to review and adjust accordingly.
- Aqua Classes/Swim Lessons: Aqua Classes will be held. We hope to offer swim lessons soon and will update you when we receive a ‘good-to-go’ from the County.
- Steam/Sauna: We are not authorized to open these amenities at this time but will as soon as we are able.
- K-Zone: Stations will be open and available for reservation (use your KCF App for convenience). Stations will be sanitized between use.
- Kidz Club: Kidz Club will be offered though not all clubs will open Kidz Club on June 15th. Hours and attendance will be modified and varied. Stay tuned for updates on Kidz Club re-opening.
What about my membership? When SLO County required we close our doors on March 20, 2020 all memberships were placed on hold and billing suspended for monthly memberships/service plans. Any membership time or club services you paid for but were unable to use during our closure will be credited back to you in time/services.
- Prepaid Memberships including Corporate Prepaid Memberships: Your membership was automatically placed on hold effective March 20, 2020 and when we re-open, the time you paid for during the closure, will be added to extend your membership. Please allow 14 business days for your account to reflect this additional time.
- Electronic Fund Transfer (EFT) Monthly Memberships: For those who paid regular membership dues/club service on March 10th, we will credit you in membership time/club service from our opening date to July 1st. Your regular monthly dues/club service for July will be deducted on July 1st. If you need to make any account changes prior to this deduction, please let us hear from you no later than June 26th. Email is preferred. Please see your home Club’s Member Service Coordinator’s email below.
When can members renew or join? Our membership teams will be available to assist with those wishing to renew or join when we re-open. Once we do re-open, new members may also conveniently join online by clicking on this link: https://www.kennedyclubs.com/membership/.
We will continue to update you this week with any additions or changes via email, our website and social media sites.
We appreciate and thank you for your continued patience. We’ll do our very best to ‘get it right’ out of the gate but let’s all prepare ourselves for the unexpected during these unprecedented times.
Can’t wait to see you ALL next week!
In GOOD HEALTH,
Kevin, Barb Kennedy & YOUR KCF Team
