Labor Day Monday, September 2nd, all four Kennedy Club Fitness locations are kicking off fundraising efforts for KCF Instructor, Rosa Jones, who recently passed unexpectedly due to a brain aneurysm. Each Club is offering a free locals guest day, family swim from 1p-4p and BBQ sponsored by A.M. Sun Solar from 1p-2:30p. Jones’ family has started a GoFundMe account to assist with medical and funeral costs. Says, Barb Kennedy of Kennedy Club Fitness, ‘Rosa was the most kind and generous spirit and very loved by members and co-workers. She has left a tremendous void, not only in her own family but in our Kennedy Club Fitness family as well.” Several classes during the week of September 2nd through September 8th at all Kennedy locations will be dedicated to Rosa Jones, with a suggested donation of $10 per class. Open House at Kennedy Club Fitness…Reveals new ‘K-Zone’ Body Recovery/Relaxation Centers

SAN LUIS OBISPO, CA: July 8, 2019: Saturday, July 13th is the Annual Community Open House at all four Kennedy Club Fitness locations: Paso Robles, Atascadero, San Luis Obispo and Arroyo Grande. During this free ‘locals’ guest day, all locations offer the popular Family Swim and Pool Party, music, a variety of classes, special events, demonstrations, along with family fun for all ages. Kidz Club, for infants up to 10 years of age will engage children in special crafts, games and entertainment allowing parents and older children to participate in the many age-appropriate activities. Participants may earn raffle tickets for participation and entered to win thousands of dollars of prizes in each location. New this year is the unveiling of the new ‘K-Zone Body Recovery/Relaxation Centers in each location. Pre-Atascadero Wine Fest ‘WINE’d UP ‘Pop-Up’ Classes in Sunken Gardens

Kennedy Club Fitness-Atascadero is partnering with the Atascadero Chamber of Commerce and City of Atascadero to offer a lifestyle element to this year’s Central Coast Reserve –formerly known as the Atascadero Wine Festival. Kennedy is offering two ‘Pop-Up’ classes, free and open to the public the morning of the wine festival, Saturday, June 22nd in Sunken Gardens. The classes are free and open to the public, all fitness abilities are welcome. Kickoff is at 9:00 a.m. with Party Prep ‘Wine’d’ Up’, thirty-minutes of cardio blast to get your heart pumping and calories burning. Yoga ‘Wine’d Down’, follows at 9:45 a.m.with forty-five minutes of Yoga strength, stretch and relaxation movements.   Between classes and after Yoga, Kennedy is offering all class participants complimentary cold refreshments including free Mimosas for those 21 and older with I.D. The morning ends with a live drawing for those participants present to win. Prizes include free Wine Festival tickets, summer membership passes to Kennedy and more. Kennedy Club Fitness Collects Hundreds of Easter Baskets for Local Kids

Members of Kennedy Club Fitness Arroyo Grande have generously donated time and money over the past couple of years to provide over 5,000 Easter Baskets for our county’s disadvantaged youth. Says Joy Danley, personal trainer for Kennedy Club Fitness and event organizer, “Every year I am overwhelmed with our member’s response. This year we collected over 600 ‘Baskets of Love’.” Danley encouraged donors to include notes of encouragement in each basket. The South County S.A.F.E. Program and Mental Health Organization volunteered to distribute the baskets to all of the children in time for Easter.





Kennedy Club Fitness announces Cal Poly-Kennedy Club Fitness

‘805’ Scholarship Fund Recipients

 Three first-time Cal Poly students from the ‘805’ area code were recently awarded $1000 each from the Cal Poly-Kennedy Club Fitness ‘805’ Local Scholarship Fund. Connor Hickey, Brian Kragh and Julia Johnson were inaugural recipients of the scholarship fund, created by Kevin Kennedy, Cal Poly Alum. Says Kennedy, “My Senior Project was a feasibility study related to opening multiple health club locations in San Luis Obispo County. We recently celebrated thirty-seven years in SLO County with four club locations, Paso Robles, Atascadero, San Luis Obispo and Arroyo Grande. I owe our success to the education and guidance I received from my years at Cal Poly”. Kennedy also wishes to thank his Kennedy Club Fitness members who supported the scholarship as well as media partners, KSBY, Tribune, ValPak, New Times and AGM Radio who assisted in promoting the scholarship and enlisting applicants over the past year.

Shoe Tree Donation at Kennedy Club Fitness-Arroyo Grande

 For the third year in a row, Joy Danley, Personal Trainer at Kennedy Club Fitness-Arroyo Grande reached out to Kennedy members and the Five Cities community to request donations of new or ‘gently used’ shoes for youth in the area. “We put up the Christmas Tree and are hanging shoes as ornaments and it has grabbed the attention and hearts of our members”, says Mark Pazell, General Manager of KCF-Arroyo Grande. “Joy is known for always looking for ways to give back to the community and this has proven to be a really successful drive. Our members look forward to the opportunity give back, right along with her.” Last year Kennedy Club Fitness-Arroyo Grande received so many new pairs of shoes they were able to fill the local need and there were enough to take to disadvantaged youth in Mexico. Danley adds, “We live in such a beautiful community people might not realize the need. There is great need and our amazing community rises to the occasion each and every time.” Donations of new and ‘gently worn shoes’ will continue to be accepted through January 1st. Family Fun with 8 Tons of Snow at Kennedy Club Fitness

Snow Daze, a popular annual holiday event sponsored by Kennedy Club Fitness-San Luis Obispo MultiPlex is Wednesday, December 12th from 9a to 7p. This fun, family event is free and open to the public.

Along with 8 tons of snow provided for snow play for children and adults alike, Snow Daze will include a vendor fair, complementary food and hot chocolate bar, pictures with Santa, face painting and more.

Our vendor fair is from 3p-7p and will help you with your holiday shopping and from 4p-7p, we’re offering party food, along with a hot chocolate bar in the lobby. Kennedy Club Fitness seeks applicants for inaugural Cal Poly ‘805’ Local Scholarship award. 

Kennedy Club Fitness is encouraging first-time Cal Poly students residing in the ‘805’ area code to apply for one of three $1,000 scholarships funded by the members of Kennedy Club Fitness. Preference is given to those who have declared their major in a health-fitness related field of study. The Cal Poly-Kennedy Club Fitness 805 Local Scholarship Fund was created in 2015 by Kevin Kennedy, owner of Kennedy Club Fitness as a way to give back to the Cal Poly community. Kennedy Club Fitness partners with Salvation Army For California Wild Fire Relief Fund.

 Kennedy Club Fitness Paso Robles, Atascadero, San Luis Obispo and Arroyo Grande are partnering with the local offices of the Salvation Army to help raise funds for those affected by the recent California Wild Fires. Says Debra Albert, Marketing Manager, “Several of our staff who either have firefighters in their family or know people affected by the fires asked us to get involved as a company. We’ve had a long standing relationship with the Salvation Army, and they, along with the Red Cross have been instrumental in providing help and relief. We host the red kettles every holiday and it seemed fitting to bring those kettles back in the Clubs as beacons of help and aid for those who need it.” The Salvation Army has set up a donation page specific to raising funds for this cause. Kennedy Members Raise $1000 for SLO County Food Bank’s Hunger Awareness Day

Kennedy Club Fitness held a spotlight class in each of their four locations during the month of May to raise awareness – and funds—for SLO County Food Bank’s Hunger Awareness Day.

Kennedy members danced, stretched, powered and more to raise $1,000. Says Debra Leonard Albert, Marketing Manager, ‘Our members are very generous and enthusiastic supporters of our community. When you hear the statistic that one in six people are hungry in our County, and 40% are children, 20% are seniors, then it’s up to all of us to pitch in and help because 100% are living here as our neighbors. Kennedy Club Fitness Raises Funds to Help Charley Stafford
Six year old Charley Stafford, daughter of Mitch and Alyx Truax Stafford was severely injured in a home accident on March 26th that resulted in the near loss of her leg. She was airlifted to USC and has gone through a series of surgeries to save her leg with several future surgeries required. Mitch and Alyx Truax Stafford are very well known in the North County aquatic’s community and Alyx has been a long-time Aquatics Director for Kennedy Club Fitness-Paso Robles. Both Kennedy Club Fitness Atascadero and San Luis Obispo club locations are hosting an aquatics event, Splash into Summer, on Saturday, May 20th that will raise funds to help offset increasing medical expenses. This summer event includes a free guest day, family swim, one day sale on aquatic programs with BBQ proceeds and suggested donations benefitting the family. Kennedy Club Fitness Paso Robles is hosting Charley’s Day on Memorial Day, Monday, May 29th with similar activities and events. A silent auction is also currently offered at the Paso Robles location. Kennedy Club Fitness Paso Robles and Atascadero recently offered a series of classes that encouraged members to ‘sweat’ and raise funds for must! charities. A total of $700 was raised and presented to Becky Gray, Executive Director of must!
must! charities is driven by a collaboration of friends and business owners who are dedicated to improving the quality of life in the North County of San Luis Obispo, through empowering local organizations to make strategic changes that will a create long-term, philanthropic and sustainable transformation within the region.
